A Dr. Seuss emergent reader
I have spent the week frantically trying to finish up our American symbols unit (Thank you Deanna Jump for the wonderful unit you created!). I have downloaded so many Dr. Seuss units and made all my Dr. Seuss math workstations (thank you DeeDee Wills and Deanna, once again). Today I decided I had to have a Dr. Seuss guided reading book. I hope some of you will be able to use it! A great big thank you to Michelle (The 3am Teacher blog) for the wonderful Dr. Seuss graphics that I used in making the book.

Statue of Liberty guided reading book Freebie
There's not a lot of emergent guided reading books about National Symbols. I went on a search for free bw clipart and found this at Free Stock Photos. I made a guided reading book about the Statue of Liberty and a response sheet that I hope you can use in your classroom.

An Inspiration from a New Blogging Buddy and a Smartboard Literacy Workstation!
I have a found a new blogging buddy and an inspiration! Valerie from Grow Up Learning has a new blog with lots of freebies, one being a Smartboard activity created with flash! She inspired me to create an activity using adobe flash! This smartboard activity has all the digraphs and will make a great literacy workstation! So thank you Valerie; everyone head over to her blog and welcome her to a wonderful sharing community!

Digraphs Literacy Workstations
For several weeks I have uploaded digraph songs and videos. I designed workstations for each digraph. I designed them so that you can take any two or three to sort. There are also response sheets for all the digraphs. The clipart is from Microsoft Office. I hope you will find these useful, my kindergarteners have enjoyed them. I have the Lakeshore set of blends and digraphs, the pictures match those manipulatives. In case you don't have them, each set has picture cards. I have my students sort the manipulatives and then use the word cards to record two digraphs of their choice. I will be adding Smartboard activites soon.

Last but not Least ! The Wh Shake Up Pokey
I hope your children will enjoy singing the Shake Up Pokey songs as much as I've enjoyed recording them! But more importantly, I hope they are a big help in learning the digraphs.
