Swat that Fly! Game

I made a trip to Dollar Tree and found these small flyswatters! I bought several, came home and made a game that I'll use in my Guided Reading groups the first few weeks and then place in my literacy work stations. I hope your students will enjoy playing the game.

Tops and Bottoms

Here are some ideas for one of my favorite books. There's color pictures for retelling the story (I'm going to put the pieces in my Retelling Center) and a response sheet. I take a half sheet of light blue construction paper, have the students color half brown, color, cut out vegetables and paste in correct place on sheet.

Farm Write the Room

For those who have followed my blog for a while, you know I am writing a book based on my great great grandfather's letters written during the Civil War. I have been writing and researching this week (my spring break). I am hoping to have the book ready at the end of the summer. There are many sad stories about the men and their families, but also survival! This continues to be a fascinating journey. But, I meant to upload my farm literacy and math work stations earlier this week and time got away from me! Have a great rest of the week and watch for more workstations!
