Bees Pattern Block Game

I use magnetic pattern blocks and have the gameboard placed on a small magnetic board or small cookie sheet and have the students roll a dice and  make a hexagon from the number thrown. The first one to fill their hive is the winner! I got tickled when I heard one of my kiddos say I hope I roll a one...

How Many?

I have a large set of the above insect manipulatives. I made up sets of the manipulatives for the children to sort and count.

What Would You do with 100,00+ Lids?

Our school is so fortunate to have a fabulous art teacher like Pam Weldon. She took on a daunting project this year, but it has turned out to be one of the best projects our school has ever tackled. We now have 24 colorful murals hung around our school that our students and staff will enjoy for years to come. We love and appreciate you, Mrs. Weldon!

Buggy Discovery Bags

My students will be researching insects next week through Insect Discovery Bags. I want to share the information sheets I created for the bags with you. If you look closely at the pictures of the bags, I've included simple books about each insect, a life cycle model, stuffed animals or puppets of each insect and the laminated fact sheets. (The puppets and the ant came from Dollar tree.) Students will work in small groups to collect information about their insect. They will rotate through four centers next week, including a computer station where they will visit to collect material on their favorite insect.
If you want the fact sheets:
1. send me an email (see Contact Me on the sidebar) with Buggy Discovery Bags in the subject area
2.leave a comment after you receive them.
I would really appreciate it if you would share how you used the fact sheets.
You can download the collection sheets below the pictures of the Discovery Bags.
